The traditional solution required encryption and changes to the browser that used the data files. In many cases the browser is difficult to modify since it is a finished product. Also, the end-user may be using any one of several popular browsers.

CD-Cops Crypto allows the use of a standard browser while maintaining encrypted data files. The browser is monitored while running and data files are decrypted on the fly in memory. For instance Acrobat Reader files (PDF) can be protected and used with a standard Reader.

This refined technique has been implemented using the advanced 32-bit operating system interface, and it works with modern 32-bit browsers running on 32-bit platforms, Win 95/98/ME, NT 4.0, Win2K, Win2K3, WinXP(64) and Vista(64).

The data files are encrypted using a powerful, proprietary algorithm and the Crypto loader is locked to the distribution media using our well-known CDR-Cops/CD-Cops/DVD-Cops technology or to the end-users machine using our WebCops product.

Any reputable factory can make the protected CD/DVD-ROMs without the use of special equipment. The finished CD/DVD-ROMs cannot be copied, and the databases themselves cannot be pirated.
